What in the world is a hot chocolate bomb? Hot chocolate bombs are the latest food craze sweeping America. Call it a festive food fad or a decadent COVID-coping mechanism; either way, these little balls of flavor are taking the country by storm.
Hot chocolate bombs (a.k.a. hot cocoa bombs) are balls of chocolate that you put in the bottom of a coffee mug — then you pour a hot liquid like milk or coffee into the mug and the chocolate melts and releases the marshmallows or cocoa or both, hiding inside.
While some people who are fluent in cooking create their own DIY bombs, hot chocolate bombs can be purchased pre-made at a variety of independent retailers and dessert shops across the country. But, fortunately for us, Costco is selling A’cappella Hot Chocolate BevBomb’s (18-pack). Get ‘em while you can!
Now for the fun part. Many of your friends may decide to ‘spike’ their bombs with rum or whiskey and you might be feeling a little left out. But, don’t be. Instead of using alcohol, try a non alcoholic eggnog or almost-boozy coffee to spice up your bombs. Here are some fun ideas for you to try.
